Warning Sleeping with a friend might change your life forever.

Sleeping with Kyle was never in the plans. Pretending to be his girlfriend was one thing, but letting our relationship become anything but platonic was another. The problem with mixing friendship with sex is that inevitably feelings get involved, and when that happens there's no turning back.

When Kyle's life fell apart around him, I needed to help, but doing that meant opening myself up to the most terrifying thing in the world—falling in love.

The Hazards of Sleeping with a Friend eBook Alyssa Rose Ivy

I hate saying it, but, after reading all of the Hazards books, The Hazards of Sleeping with a Friend is my least favorite in the series. It wasn't that it wasn't a good book. It was. There were just some choices the author made that I didn't agree with.

In The Hazards of Sleeping with a Friend, we finally get Kyle's story. We've seen him have a lot of ups and downs in the women department over the series, so it's fun for him to finally meet his match in Jade. They are friends from their radio station jobs, but things start to get complicated and sensual between them when Jade pretends to be Kyle's girlfriend.

I adored the first half of this book. Kyle and Jade's fake relationship was cute. The way they end up together is so much fun. They learned a lot about each other -- both in and out of bed. I loved the connection they had.

Where the story started to lose me was after their pretend time was over. The story took a drastic turn, and it went from being cute and happy to pretty dang depressing. The tone was so different, it was almost like two different stories in one book. I didn't like the scenario or how it played out. I get there had to be a conflict in the story. I just wish it hadn't been that.

Overall, The Hazards of Sleeping with a Friend was a good book. It just wasn't as good as the rest of the series. If you're a fan of the Hazards series, you'll want to read it because you'll want to see Kyle get his happily ever after.

The Hazards of Sleeping with a Friend eBook Alyssa Rose Ivy Reviews

I really enjoy her books. It is a nice, easy read. . I have read all the books in the series and really like the characters and how they are tie in to each book. But you can read this book alone and not feel lost.
I really liked this story. It was much different than the other Hazzard stories. However Jade's story line was lacking. She talks about her strained relationship with her mother but we never learned why or have a resolve.
I feel like all I have done lately is leave bad reviews on books by authors I really like. And I hate leaving bad reviews, but I am about to do it again. I have read all the Hazard books and have really enjoyed each one. Except this one. It almost didn't feel like the same author. The best way to describe this book is choppy. Everything felt choppy. Jade's sad attitude about relationships really started to get on my nerves. At 67% I slammed my shut and actually said out loud how ridiculous this was. How many times can you say you aren't in a relationship when you clearly ARE??!! If you have feelings for someone and it doesn't work out, even if you don't have a title to it, you are going to be hurt either way. So it just annoyed me that she kept denying it for that reason. Everything felt rushed and there was just no real feeling involved with this book. Sure I was TOLD, but I didn't get it. No connection with these characters, just fell very flat to me. Very disappointed.
I like the twists and turns in this story. I haven't been disappointed yet by anything Alyssa has written. I love Jade and Kyle. I was slightly surprised by each of their back stories. It makes sense and it's kind of perfect how it goes for them.
I have loved reading each and every one of "The Hazards" series and "The Hazards of Sleeping With a Friend" was no exception. I kind of saw the end going differently but Ivy sure threw in some unexpected curve balls that added dimension to the characters in this story. She also did a good job of jogging my memory with some characters in her other books that she reintroduced here.

I recently purchased Seduction's Kiss from the Allure Chronicles and plan on reading The Afterglow Trilogy soon, then I'll be waiting on what she has next to publish. I've read absolutely everything else she's written. Ivy never disappoints!!
Jade and Kyle have a rough background. His is a lurking mental disease that he controls well and hers a past loss that haunts her. Their friendship grows throughout this whole series, but culminates in this, the last in the Hazards Series by Alyssa Rose Ivy. A bit darker and sad in some places, this love that develops between these two is one that really helps you to appreciate and love both characters - and pull for their future together. Beginning with Kyle inviting Jade on an opportunistic week vacation with his family where they 'pretend' to be boyfriend and girlfriend. Of course, the sham soon becomes not so shammy, and the two end up sleeping together. It's obvious they care for one another, and their relationship progresses just as most of these do - he wants more, she's reluctant, blah, blah. But there is a surprise towards the end, and the climax throws you for a loop. It's disheartening, but ARI does a great job dealing with it. Their relationship ends up stronger than ever. You'll have to read it to see how it goes. She's good . . . so very good!
Jade enjoyed working at the radio station with Kyle. She had a crush on him so it made it even better. She was a freshman at Harrison in the Delta Mu sorority. Music was her thing. She loved it. She knew she was destined to be alone. She didn't see herself as ever getting married. It wasn't worth it. She was having a few beers with Kyle at the station one night when she somehow got the conversation to be about sex and that she'd been thinking about having a random one night stand. Kyle didn't want her to be with a random stranger so he graciously offered his services if she decided she needed to have sex. They had become good friends over the school year. When school got out, he had to go on a trip up to Lake Grand with his family. His family thought he was dating someone so he convinced Jade to go on the trip as his fake girlfriend.

This is another book in the Hazard series. I might not read the Mistletoe book right away because I think I need a little break from these mind numbing stories. They aren't bad books, I still give them 4 stars because I enjoy them. I like to get away for a bit from my life. Then again, Christmas is in three days so it might be kind of appropriate. Maybe I'll read just a chapter or three...

The book was in dual POVs. The editing was good.
